We are seeking for a Junior Software Engineer

That’s why we are looking for a customer-oriented Software Engineer that helps us grow.

Software Development creates and delivers technology solutions for our Clients and Associates. Whether internal or external, we enable people do things more efficiently and in a streamlined fashion. The global team developed our primary customer portal, OSSmosis, the Call Center Dashboard, IVR portals, integrations and other real-time processes for Evolve IP Clients. For internal constituents we develop custom workflows that enable Functional Areas to operate more efficiently and we provide different types of reporting for them.

Our Junior Software Engineer will mainly be responsible for developing sophisticated IVR applications in the Evolve IP STT (state transition) language, including a corresponding web portal for configuration management. He/she will be working in a small, international and enthusiastic team. Important to know is that this is a position with a career path and that there is much room to grow and develop your skills.

Activities

Your activities consist of, but are not limited to:

  • Design, develop, test and document
    • software solutions
    • IVR applications
    • reporting solutions
  • Provide support for cases raised by Clients or ICT
  • Maintain and improve the performance of existing software
  • Clearly and regularly communicate with management and technical support Colleagues
  • Recommend improvements to existing software programs as necessary
  • Protect operations by keeping information confidential and adhere to secure development guidelines
  • Support ICT in deploying software solutions, i.e. preparing change requests and assisting in the execution (4-eye principle)

Demands:

  • Bachelor’s degree Software Engineering
  • Approximately 1 year of experience in a similar job
  • High EQ (Emotional Intelligence)
  • Attention to detail
  • Suitable for working in a fast, dynamic environment
  • Good oral and written skills, both in English and preferably in Dutch
  • Knowledge of designing, delivering, and supporting enterprise systems
  • Class-work or prior experience using .Net / .Net Core, C#, SQL Server databases, web-services and APIs
  • Knowledge of Agile Software Development.  Desire to work with Scrum or Kanban required.
  • Some understanding of the following:
    • Test driven development
    • Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery
    • Behavioral driven development a plus
    • Paired programming
  • Experience with code reviewing via tools like Crucible or Review Board
  • Experience with use of static code analysis tools
  • Software build experience using a repository driven configuration management build utility
  • Knowledge of front-end framework (Angular, ExtJS, JQuery, Polymer, Vue.JS)
